Burnt clay soling bricks are used for soling of roads.

compressive strength of these type of bricks should not be less than 5.0 N/mm2.

WATER ABSORPTION

should not be more than 20 per cent by weight after immersion for about 24 hours in cold water.

EFFLORESCENSE

Rating should not be more than slight

Overall dimensions of 20 bricks (selected) should be within following limits.

Length:- 3700–3880 mm (3800 ± 80 mm)

Height:- For  90 mm bricks 1760–1840 mm

                      40 mm bricks 760–840 mm
